Eucalyptus & Helath Benefits: By Kali MacArthur

Latin Name: Eucalyptus Globulus & Eucalyptus radiate

Common Name: Eucalyptus

                                              About Eucalyptus

Eucalyptuses plant is in the country origin of Australia. Australia is a unique in having highly diverse plants. 85 % of species of insects have been recorded as pests of Eucalyptus plantations around Australia. Plantations are also likely to influence native forests through the large amount of insects biomass production that occurs in outbreak situations, or through the introduction or facilitation of movements for insects that are not native to parts of Australia. Older plantations such as tree flowers may exchange genes with surrounding forest species, given the high degree of hybridization exhibited by many Eucalyptus species. Eucalyptus globulus is native only to a limited area of Australia; its range throughout Australia has been expanded greatly through forestry plantings. Plantations of Eucalyptus globulus & other eucalypt species are environmentally beneficial for they provide shelter & food for native animals. Eucalyptus plantations are used for conservations from many other kinds of land sources. Australia makes many ecological issues associated with forestry unique to Australia. Australia has a very unique forest communities that dominate two plant genera's on a continent- wide scale. Eucalyptus plantations acquire more pests from native forests than do exotic plantation species. Eucalyptus globulus can increase the likelihood of  increasing unwanted pests. There are some benefits that could help the vegetation of the herbivore insects that could help with valuable resources of wildlife.

                                          Eucalyptus & Health Effects

Using too much Eucalyptus at one time can be toxic, all you need is a little bit of Eucalyptus to relieve pain in the muscles & soreness. Eucalyptus is not recommended in homeopathy uses, because it has somewhat of a strong medicinal smell that some people might be allergic to that kind of plant. For people who are allergic to eucalyptus it might cause airborne contact such as dermatitis, which can be very dangerous to these sensitive people. My advice before using Eucalyptus essential oil to help with pain or sores is to talk to your doctor for advice or get an allergy test before you take this essential oil. 1 piece of advice is to always dilute any essential oil with a healing oil such as sweet almond oil or jojoba oil before putting any essential oil on your skin.
